Dr. Rivero was born and raised in Lafayette, California. She received a bachelor’s degree in Physiology & Neuroscience at the University of California, San Diego before graduating from Colorado State University with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2020.
Dr. Rivero’s passion for veterinary medicine began after high school, when her mom founded a non-profit animal rescue. She loved nursing sick pets back to health and watching them find their forever homes. She still finds helping sick animals rewarding, and loves the complexity of veterinary medicine, and all that she gets to see and do!
Her favorite animals to work with are Rottweilers, pitties, and cats! She is interested in feline medicine and fear-free handling. She has a background and special interest in rescue medicine, and still fosters homeless cats while they wait for their forever families.
When not at work, Dr. Rivero can be found camping, backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, rock climbing, canyoneering, and doing yoga. She is a connoisseur of wine and charcuterie. She balances her time between family, friends, and her cats (Remus, Boo Boo, Nugget, Sharky, and Sebastian) as well as her Rottweiler (Zuri).×
